Duval students to commemorate “Medal of Honor Day” on Thursday

March 24, 2021 – On Thursday, students across Duval County Public Schools will learn about the sacrifices made by the men and women who have received the military’s highest award for valor – the Medal of Honor.

Florida Statute (s)683.147 designates March 25 of each year as a day to commemorate the priceless contributions made to the country by Medal of Honor recipients and all Armed Forces veterans.

Duval County Public Schools will join school districts throughout the state in providing special instruction to students. Specialized resources have been assembled by the district’s social studies department and provided to Team Duval educators in each grade band. Among the resources is a video for secondary students that highlight Medal of Honor recipients.

Duval County Public Schools is proud to participate in honoring Medal of Honor recipients and all veterans of the United States military.
