April 23, 2024 – Six semifinalists have been selected to progress to the next round in Team Duval’s search for its next superintendent.
The semifinalists were chosen out of 20 candidates by the Duval County School Board during their meeting on Tuesday. The semifinalists are:
- Dr. Christopher Bernier
- Adam Taylor
- Dr. Daniel Smith
- Dr. Josiah Phillips
- Dr. Cheryl Proctor
- Luis Solano
Next Steps
Each semifinalist will respond to questions from board members in writing and through a recorded video. This information will be posted to the Superintendent Search website in early May.
Afterwards, the community will have an opportunity to provide input on each semifinalist through a special link placed on the search website.
After a review of the responses from the semifinalists and of the community feedback, the School Board is scheduled to meet on May 7 to select the finalists, and then on May 23 to select a superintendent.
